HISTORY OF JUDICIAL DISTRICT UMERKOT

Judicial District Umerkot was created in the month of September 1994. The Court of District and Sessions judge Umerkot created On 22-09-1994.

The One Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge, Umerkot, one Court of Senior Civil Judge Umerkot, and one Court of Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Umerkot, Created in October 1994. The Court of Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Umerkot shifted at Kunri on 04-12-1995, The Court of Judicial Magistrate Samaro and Pithoro, were created in April 1995. One Court of Senior Civil Judge Mithi, shifted to this District Umerkot On 07th May 1997.

The Judicial District Umerkot was abolished in the month of December 2000, and merged with the Judicial District Mirpurkhas. The newly Judicial District Umerkot has been restored in the month of July 2005. presently the Judicial District Umerkot Consists upon One Court of District & Sessions Judge, one Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge, two Courts of Senior Civil Judges, and Five Courts of Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrates are situated two in Umerkot and one each at Talukas Kunri, Samaro and Pithoro and one Court of Family Judge at Umerkot.
